She couldn't remember how long she had been alone now. Hell, she didn't even know what day of the week it was now, or what month. It had all blurred into one. Thats what tended to happen when you were alone. When you had no interaction with anyone, no sound, nothing.
So the cat was a welcomed sight, despite also being one she feared. She feared it might make a noise, attract those monsters that came from the sky. She feared that with the cat, came people who would try and hurt her. Some people had definitely turned a little insane in their soitude.
But when she lift her eyes and saw the male, she didn't sense that he was someone she should fear.
She still pushed herself back a little, trying to keep a little distance from him.
But he rose a hand. A greeting perhaps?
She lift both her hands to show they were empty.
She just wanted to survive the monsters, she hadn't thought about defending herself to survive humans.
Magnolia looked at the cat again, then pointed to it, then to the man, silently asking if it was his.

Halting outside the building, Eric looked at it for a few moments in silence. Inhaling deeply, he wondered if it was a good idea to follow the cat inside, but he had made a promise. And he was pretty attached to Frodo as well so ... he didn't really have a choice did he? God, he really hoped there were no death angels inside the building.
Swallowing, he gathered his courage and stepped through the door that had been destroyed sometime during the chaos of the aliens arriving in this town. But Eric tried his best not to think about that.
His senses on high alert, his heart pounding in his chest as it usually did whenever his travel companion disappeared on him, Eric made his way through the building. Only barely daring to breathe because he had no idea how safe this place was, not that anywhere was truly safe these days.
Peering around a corner, Eric spotted Frodo and almost relaxed, until he realised that the cat was eating and someone was sitting just a bit further away. He hadn't actually seen anyone since he'd gotten off the boat and while he had once clung to a person, he was now so used to having just Frodo around that it made him a little uneasy.
Nonetheless, he loved the cat so ... there really was no choice, right? Slowly stepping into view, he raised a hand in greeting and smiled a little.

"Why not?" Magnolia asked as she looked at the other. "Just because Zombies started roaming the earth, doesn't mean we have to lose humanity. Otherwise we're no better than them." Maggie said.
"Humans aren't meant to be alone. It does things to your head." She then added.

"People, places, you don鈥檛 get to hold on to any of that."

Magnolia still wasn't sure how she had survived this long. She was surprised she survived the attack on the city, but then the boat sinking?
The screams of those drowning were drawing those creatures in closer. So much for a safe haven! She had managed to swim ashore, and yes, there had been some to survive and make it ashore, but it wasn't long before they were attacked, or fell due to illness.
She was determined to find somewhere safe, somewhere surrounded by water.
Mags moved slowly and carefully through the kitchen, seeing if there was anything in there she could eat. She knew packages would be risky, but she couldn't starve herself. There were ways to be quiet.
She turned around, her eyes widening as she noticed the cat looking up at her. It had felt like a while since she had seen a cat. She rarely saw Humans these days. Stepping back slowly, she was worried it might meow at her, and that would be it, they would come, they would hunt her. But the cat made now noise, and instead walked to where she had been looking for food. She looked at the can on tuna in her hand, then back at the cat. She lift a finger to her lips, as if to tell it to be quiet, then wrapped her scarf around it, and very carefully, very slowly, opened it.
She took a tentative step forwards and placed the can down on the floor, before taking a seat on the floor.
@entangledmuses liked for a starter.
Count on Frodo to disappear ... Eric loved the cat but sometimes he wished it would stick around rather than go exploring in some run down city. Swallowing, he eyed the buildings nervously as he slowly made his way towards the building he'd seen Frodo disappear into.
Step by step, avoiding debris and other things that could make noise, Eric reached the building and looked at it curiously. To be honest, he hadn't really been in a city since he'd left New York, but he knew he couldn't avoid it. Town and cities were bound to cross his path until he found a safe place to settle.
